There is always a doctor available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Please ring the surgery where a recorded message will give you instructions on how to contact the emergency service or telephone NHS 111 direct (all calls are free from a landline or mobile).
On contacting the service you may be offered advice from a doctor, be asked to attend the local out of hours centre or in certain cases be offered a home visit.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
